![]() ![]() Having old outdated devices in your home that use WiFi 'b'slows entire 2.4GHZ WiFi networks to a crawl as well. Why is this? Well,there is absolutely no standardization of home network wiring inside Ridge homes and the use of poorly setup WiFi when streaming video is a major culprit for poor internet speed. "In every case that Centurylink reports a resident internet connection is performing well, it is." In all cases where a Ridge Resident has been reporting slow internet, the technical challenges limiting connectivity have always been on the resident side. So here is my experience when speaking to Ridge Residents about their internet speeds. Residents were promised speeds as high as 140mbps in node 4 and these modems are coming online recently reporting 'training rates' at 150+ mbps. Typically, CL "over deliver" on speeds to residents and our new Ridge network has been slightly 'over engineered' for this purpose. ![]() The old days of "internet speeds up to 100mbps meaning 10mbps" are long gone. ![]() How do I know if my Centurylink Internet service is performing well? Centurylink are under considerable pressure from public 'watch dog' services that rate Internet Service Provider performance. ![]()
